Syncing is a way of backing up files to our network
If anything happens to your computer, syncing properly was your only hope of being able to recover files later
Only documents in the My Documents folder will be synced. Nothing on your desktop will ever be backed up
Movie, Picture, Music files do not get backed up
Files in the My Documents folder (except for movies, pictures, and music) will sync when the Sync Home Now command is initiated at school.
Preferences such as desktop background and screensaver sync at log in and log out when you're at school
iCal and Stickies only sync when you log in or log out at school. Please take that into account before trusting them with large amounts of information!
Troubleshooting
I don't have the "Two Houses" icon on my top toolbar.
Please stop by the iHelp room for help.
Why do I get syncing errors?
There may be a problem with your backups. You may wish to see Tech Support for more help
Why do I have both "Documents" and "My Documents" on my computer?
They are mirrors of each other (they should automatically contain the same files.) If they do not, you may wish to see Tech Support
Help! I've never synced!
First, click the Home Sync icon in the menu bar to see the last time you synced. If you haven't synced recently, try to sync home now. If that doesn't work, you may wish to see Tech Support
Syncing creates backups of your documents and preferences on the network
